Got a question for the therapist
Are you looking for someone to talk to?
Are you finding it difficult to cope......encountering difficulties.....or have on-going problems?
I'm Sandra a Private Integrative Counsellor, which means that I work within a number of different models as and when necessary to suit each clients needs.
My passion lies in helping people gain insight along their journey of what's gone before and what's occurring now. I will help you to recognise patterns of behaviour which have built up over time, so you can make sense of your feelings, enabling you to see your difficulties in a more manageable way.
I abide by the code of Ethics of the BACP Guidelines for Good Practice in a confidential manner.
What's happening in my world? Well, don't you just love it when you are given a moving date, which is tomorrow, and the week before, you find out you aren't moving and it could be another six weeks before you do! Well, boxes are everywhere, plans had been made, but my motto is 'there is a reason for everything under the sun. Why worry about tomorrow when today has enough of its own.' So I keep calm and carry on (after I've aired my thoughts to my husband) :-)
Enjoy the sunshine, enjoy the view, enjoy the last summer in the home we have shared for the past eighteen years. It will be when it will be....watch this space :-)
I'm feeling sooooooo relaxed. Still no moving date on the horizon and feathers have been ruffled along the chain. I can't see it happening at all and it will amaze me if it does 😄😄.
Had a lovely sleep, an amazing morning at Church and now I'm stretched out on the sofa awaiting the next 22 laps of the Grand Prix. Hamilton has gained lost ground and my hubby is planning the demise of the few in front of him! 😁
Looking forward to seeing our great niece later. What a precious little girl she is. Very vocal I hear but great at 😴 x I've got to move now, sigh... Laters x
I've noticed....that when I integrate clients 'noticing' themselves during a session....exactly that happens! They notice and get in touch with themselves for the first time in possibly a long time. Amazing stuff!
Endings with clients is an amazing experience for those who stay the course.....seeing a smiling and confident face leave the premises for the last time leaves me with an endearing smile and a warm feeling inside. A client who left about a month ago recently wrote to me and gave me permission to quote her in my blog....."I look at life situations with a completely different, calmer attitude, and now whenever I am confronted with difficult situations, I can use all my techniques that I have learned...When I started to feel ready to look at finishing my sessions...it was a mixture of emotions; proud of myself for getting to a better place, however sad for having to say goodbye to someone who had given me so much support and changed my life for the better... I found the experience life-changing...I have reached my end goal, which I thought I would never do, I also have become happier in my every day life."
What do I have to say to this client and the many others I have seen...'Well done. You committed yourself to a process of discovering your own potential and finding your own answers.'
Together we carefully took off a lot of the sticky plasters which covered the many wounds. Some of them grazes; some of them deep and painful. You learned how to notice, listen to and nurture yourself which enabled the healing process. It is not to say that this is it, you are now the perfect creation, but it is fair to say that this process can recycle itself whenever it is needed.
